Invasion of the balloonheads

Daisy and Matthew (left and right, respectively) holding up their vocabulary balloons

Writing one’s dictation on an air-filled balloon can be a lot more fun and engaging than scratching it out onto a piece of lined paper.

Here, Daisy (left) and Matthew (right) hold up their vocabulary balloons. The words appeared in the portion of the award-winning Miss Rumphius storybook that we finished last week and represent just a small fraction of the vocabulary terms that we tackled during that class. We’ve since moved onto John J. Muth‘s wonderful Zen Shorts.
