At Accella, every class begins with a brief quiz that covers the grammar and vocabulary introduced in the previous lesson.
Here’s a snapshot Sunday of the students in one of our P2 classes proudly showing off their high quiz grades – nearly every paper was perfect and no one scored less than 90%. From left to right: JasmineL, AudreyC, ClaireT, RachelL, ShiraF, GwynethT.
Every quiz starts with a five or six-word dictation exercise which is corrected in real time by one of our instructors. These words are employed in the fill-in-the-blank questions that follow, which we’ve customized to include our students’ names and reflect their interests. Here’s the quiz that the children above aced:
The grammar, as you can see from the image above, comes last – but not least! It accounts for a full fifty percent of the quiz score. Below, you can see KevinW, one of our P1 students. His hard work paid off and he achieved a perfect score last week as well – including a clean sweep of the grammar section, where he had to sort nouns into two different columns depending on whether they were countable and uncountable.
Kevin and Justin, pictured below, are classmates. Here, he exults in being one of the high scorers in his class a couple of week prior. He, along with KevinW and LTL, earned a 95/100. Good job guys! We also greatly appreciate the effort invested by their parents in supporting our students’ in their studies.
